A special award is launched for registered housing societies, named as ‘Swachha Society Award’. In Navi Mumbai, the ICICI bank has announced this prestigious award for those housing societies that believe in Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, a government initiative. With the aim of celebrating the green environment and cleanliness, this contest has been announced.

The ICICI Bank has started this contest with intension to recognise, encourage and honor those housing societies, who have made the cleanliness and safety of the society their primary aim, as well as adopted green technology, to create a eco-friendly environment for the society members. This inter society contest will specially reward those housing societies that have taken various initiatives for creating an environment friendly areas in their complexes.

Starting from July 8 and till August 31, this contest is for 50 days. The contest will judge on the basis of various cleanliness steps that housing societies need to take. The societies which are supporting Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, and are practicing rainwater harvesting, energy conservation, segregated waste dustbins, compost pit, mopping machine and more, are eligible for the contest. The last date of submission the entries is August 31.

Under this contest, all the housing societies can participate in three categories, based on the number of apartments they have. But, this contest is valid only for those societies who are properly registered with the Municipal corporations of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and others areas of Maharasthra. To maintain the fighting spirit among the societies, various cash prizes is announced for the winners. Only selected entries, who fulfill all the criteria of the contest, will able to win various cash prizes, as well as a special prize for ‘Clean Crusaders Innovation Award’.
